December: Nankai University and Flinders University (Australia) jointly created the Master's Degree in International Relations in Economy and Trade (MAIRET).

June: Vice Premier Li Lanqing visited Nankai and praised the research achievements of the University in Modern Logistics.

August: Nankai University and Hong Kong Polytechnic University jointly created the Master's Degree in Modern Logistics.
September: “China Modern Logistics Development Report” was established.
October: Nankai University Enterprise Research Center was founded.
November: The Academic Committee of the College of Economic and Social Development was founded.
April: the first symposium on “Modern Logistics: Two Straits - Three Regions” was held.
April: the Institute of Transport Economics was transferred from the School of Economics to the Institute of Economic and Social Development. From that moment on, the Master's Degree programs in Regional Economics, Industrial Economics, and Logistics were administered by the Institute of Economics and Social Development.
October: Nankai University and Flinders University (Australia) jointly created the Master's Degree in Hospital Administration (MHA)
December: the second symposium on “Modern Logistics: Two Straits - Three Regions” was successfully held in Hong Kong. The staff of the Logistics Center participated in the event.
December: the opening ceremony of the Yunnan Research Institute of Nankai University was held in Kunming. Professor Yingjun WANG was designated vice president.
March: The evaluation committee of the ADCSC (Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council) praised the Master’s Degree Program in Hospital Administration undertaken by the College of Economic and Social Development and Flinders University.
April: The Logistics Research Center inaugurated its Logistics Laboratory.
May: Professors Binglian Liu and Yingjun Wang were designated as experts in Operation and Regulation by the Ministry of Commerce.
November: the Logistics Research Center won the 2004 Outstanding Teaching Achievements Award.
October: Jindu CUI, Tianjin Vice Mayor and Shuzu WANG, Director of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, were appointed as Adjunct Professors.
December: The Higher Education Logistics Professional Teaching Guidance Committee (MOE) was established, and Professor Binglian Liu was assigned as vice chairman.
October: Nankai Transportation network’s test run.
May: the office moved from the 5th floor of Fan Sun Building to the first floor of the First Teaching Building of the School of Economics.

March: A joint postgraduate program with Cardiff University was launched.
June: the “12th Five-Year Regional Planning” academic symposium and the “2010 China Regional Economics” annual conference were co-sponsored with the collaboration of the China Regional Economics Association and the Tianjin Binhai Development Research Institute.
June 2010: The “Integration, Innovation and Development of Modern Agricultural Industry Chains” forum was co-organized with the Tianjin Municipal Commision of Commerce and the Tianjin Foreign Investment Service Center.”
July: the “Development of the Binhai New Area” seminar was jointly organized with the Municipal Social Science Association and the Tianjin Binhai Development Institute.
November 2010: Nankai University and Flinders University signed a student exchange memorandum of understanding.
November: The “Sino-Australia Economic and Trade Cooperation” Forum was co-hosted with Flinders University
November 20th – 21st: The “2010 Cross-Strait Global Supply Chain and Logistics” Forum (GCSCL2010), was organized at the Southwest Jiaotong University.
December: The “China Logistics Development Report” and Prof. Binglian LIU were awarded with RMB 900,000 by the Ministry of Education’s Philosophy and the Social Sciences Research Center.
March: The Logistics Research Center was officially approved as a key research base of Humanities and Social Sciences in Tianjin.
April: the first education planning and research center “Education and Industrial & Regional Development Research Center” was established in Nankai University and linked to our college.
June: The National Education Degree Office did a survey and evaluated the teaching quality of the Master's Degree in Logistics Engineering. Nankai University ranked third in Logistics Engineering Careers. (Zhejiang University and Dalian Polytechnic ranked first and second, respectively)
June: The Logistics Research Center hosted the 4th “Revitalizing the Logistics Industry in Tianjin” Cooperation Forum. Its main topics were: Logistics Innovation, Logistics Environment Improvement, and Logistics Industry Development”.
November: The Logistics Research Center and Springer signed a cooperation agreement. These two institutions agreed to publish an annual report on the development of the Logistics Industry in China: “China Logistics Development Report.” Springer is responsible for the worldwide distribution of the English version of the book mentioned above.
November: the CESD assisted the Taiwan Affairs Office in Tianjin to apply for the “Tianjin-Taiwan Food Precise Logistics and Cross-docking” report.
November: CESD’s professors participated in “Discussions and Issues on Sanya Development Strategy.”
April: the CESD hosted the “Cross-strait Ports and Logistics Policy Comparison” Seminar.
July: the CESD participates in the construction of Tianjin Port.
August: the CESD is commissioned by the Ministry of Education to undertake important projects and takes part in the construction of the Western Yunnan Tourism and Education Group.
January: Forum for the 10th anniversary of “China Logistics Development Report” was held in Beijing.

October: The first batch of “Cross-strait Industry Comparative Research” (edited by our faculty members) was published on the “Cross-strait Cooperation and Development Innovation” forum.
October: The CESD undertook the Regional Science Association of China’s annual symposium: "Innovation, Agglomeration, and Regional Development."
November: Professor Du Chuanzhong presided over the “Development Trend of the New Industrial Revolution: its influence and countermeasures” research, and obtained the support of the National Social Science Fund. That was one of the major projects of our college.
November: the CESD co-organizes the International Symposium on Hospital Management with Flinders University.
December: the 2013-2014 “New Generation of Chinese Scholars” Symposium was held with the cooperation of the University of Chicago (Beijing Center).
February: the 2nd edition of Cross-Strait Industry Comparative Research got the recognition from the Chinese National Publishing Fund.
September: the 2014 China Supply Chain Management (Beijing) Forum and the 6th Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) Conference were held
September: jointly held the 2014 International Symposium: “The Future of Hospitals: Design Concept, System Thinking, and Operations Management” with the School of Medicine, Flinders University.
September: CESD established a strategic cooperation alliance with the Department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics Department, Columbia University.
November: CESD signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Both institutions agreed to build a post-doctoral workstation

July 6th: The College of Economic and Social Development signed a cooperation agreement with the China Ports & Harbors Association (CPHA).
July 8th: The Collaborative Innovation Center for China Economy and the Editorial Department of Economic Perspectives co-sponsored the forum entitled: “ How to strengthen the study of the Socialism with Chinese characteristics.”
July 30th: The international symposium "The future of the manufacturing industry: Challenges and Answers" was hosted by Nankai University, the China Academy of Science and Technology Development (CASTED), and the Tianjin Municipal Commission of Industry and Information Technology.
September 16th: The Seminar: “Road to China’s Industrial Transformation in the Information Age” was held.
November: The Logistic Research Center was awarded and recognized as one the key bases of the Tianjin Municipal Humanities and Social Sciences.
