Fan Xinyue is a second-level director on the Department of control and supervision of infectious diseases at the Xiamen Municipal Health and Family Planning Office as well as the vice director of the Quality Control Center of the Xiamen Hospital. She has more than 16 years of work experience.

Fan is one of the many workers who are fighting against the epidemic.In December 2019, before the beginning of the new lunar year, when the people of the city were immersed in the atmosphere of the upcoming Spring Festival, Fan and her colleagues were working on special supervision for COVID-19 cases. Since she is a health supervisor, she visited several medical institutions looking after their prevention and control work.

After the Fujian province launched the first-level health emergency as a response to the epidemic, she left home without complaints, leaving behind the celebrations for the New Year. "When the call arrives, you have to do what it takes" seems to apply to Fan's work and the devotion she showed during these hard times.

Many institutions have praised Fan's ability as an infectious disease expert. The city government deployed her to take part in epidemic prevention and to assist the medical staff in the frontline,Fan seems to confront this situation without being afraid. From the examination ward to the fever clinic, one can see her in almost every place, taking care even of the treatment of medical waste.
