Academic Exchange: Professor Muhammad Shahbaz


The Modern Logistics Research Center of our College invited Professor Muhammad Shahbaz to conduct a two-days academic exchange on September 27th and 28th.

Professor Shahbaz is Professor and In-charge of Chair at Energy and Sustainable Development (ESD) at the Montpellier Business School, in France and Senior Visiting Scholar in the Department of Land Economics at the University of Cambridge. In July, he became a visiting professor at the Energy and Environmental Policy Research Center of the Beijing Institute of Technology.

Shahbaz is a prolific scholar dedicated to International Economics and Environmental Economics. Over the past three years, he has published more than 200 academic papers on SCI and SSCI. The cumulative impact factor (JCR) of his articles reached 546.4583 and the number of Google Scholar citations reached 14,685. Professor Shahbaz was also selected by the World Bank as one of the “world’s top five” young economists in developing countries.

During the two days of the academic exchange, Professor Muhammad Shahbaz gave a lecture entitled “Asymmetric Growth Effect in Financial Development: The Importance of the Economic Threshold in Financial Developed Countries”, which was welcomed by the graduate students of our college.

After the lecture, Professor Shahbaz had a meeting with the faculty of our school and both parties reached an intention for further cooperation.
