Agreement between Nankai University and the State of Jalisco, Mexico

Staff of the Office of International Academic Exchange, the College of Tourism and Service Management, and the College of Economic and Social Development of Nankai University attended the signing ceremony. The signing parties expect that this cooperation program will promote further cooperation between China and Mexico and enhance the development of both countries in trade, investment, technology, and culture.

After the signing ceremony, Professor Qiu Hanqin gave a speech titled “Mexican Tourism and Management Talent Cultivation”. On behalf of Nankai University, Prof. Qiu introduced the online learning and offline seminars specially designed for the project, which combines industrial research and classroom teaching.

This cooperation project is led by the Office for International Academic Exchange of Nankai University and will be developed with the help of the two colleges involved.

It is the first time that Nankai conducts overseas students' enrollment through written examinations and interviews and it is also the first time that the university carries out a project with a foreign government. In this case, the State of Jalisco has selected the students who will take part in the project, while the Mexican government will provide the scholarships for them.

From July 16th to 18th, the College of Economic and Social The staff and the College of Tourism and Service Management chose professionals to travel to Mexico City to conduct on-site written examinations and interviews. The first batch of 34 Mexican students will come to China for a language study program in September 2019 and will become students of Nankai University in September 2020.
