On December 23, 2018, the first Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy seminar "China Industrial Economy", co-sponsored by the College of Economic and Social Development of Nankai University, the China Industrial Economics magazine, and China's Artificial Intelligence Development Research Institute, was held at Nankai University.
More than a hundred experts from well-known universities and research institutions at home and abroad attended the meeting. Scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing University, Zhejiang University, Beijing Normal University, Shandong University, China Information, and Communication Research Institute, Tencent Company, and Tianjin Municipal Committee took part in the different activities.
Currently, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy are becoming the new focus of the world economic development. While it brings great opportunities to economic and social development, it also brings many problems. This conference aims to explore the development trends and the major challenges brought by the AI and the digital economy.
The opening ceremony of the seminar was hosted by Professor Liu Binglian, Dean of the College of Economic and Social Development of Nankai University. Researcher Zhang Qizai, president of the China Industrial Economics magazine and Professor Gong Ke, director of the Academic Committee of Nankai University delivered their speeches.
In the first part of the meeting, scholars discussed the development direction of AI and digital economy and their impact on the industrial transformation nowadays.
In the afternoon, the conference was divided into three sub-forums. Dozens of well-known experts have exchanged ideas on legal, ethical regulation regarding AI and digital economy as well as problems on personnel training caused by the development of AI.
