The 3rd China REAL Seminar was held at our College



On February 23rd, the 3rd CHINA REAL seminar was successfully held at the College of Economic and Social Development of the Nankai University.

The objective of this series of meetings is to provide a platform for visiting scholars who have collaborated with CHINA REAL and young scholars who are planning to continue their research at the Regional Economics Applications Laboratory (REAL) of UIUC. This is the third time CHINA REAL organizes a seminar; the two previous sessions were held in Beijing (2016) and Wuhan (2018) respectively.

The conference was hosted by Geoffrey Hewings, Honorary Director of CHINA REAL and Professor Emeritus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  

Young scholars from Nankai University, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tianjin University, Zhengzhou University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai University, Shandong University of Finance and Economics, Wuhan University of Technology and other universities participated in the seminar. Most of them had the opportunity to exchange their latest research results with Professor Hewings and other scholars.

After a thorough day of intensive discussions, the attendees were satisfied with the achieved results.
