Professor Sandy Dall’Erba visited our College

As a part of our commitment to the development of regional disciplines and promoting the “Double First-Class Universities” project, our College invited Professor Sandy Dall'Erba from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) to deliver a five-day Spatial Econometrics course to our students.

During his lecture, Professor Dall'Erba has explained the theory of Spatial Econometrics. He also introduced measurement software as Geoda and R. The first one is a tool for spatial data analysis, while the second is a statistical tool. Our students have expanded their spatial measurement theory knowledge and learned new research tools. Prof. Dall'Erba has ensured that each classmate can understand how the above-mentioned software tools work.

Sandy Dall'Erba has graduated from the University of Pau, in France. He is currently a tenured professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Since 2016, Prof. Dall’Erba is the director of the Regional Economic Application Laboratory (REAL) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He is also a member of several editorial and advisory boards.

Prof. Dall'Erbas visit has contributed to the promotion of our regional disciplines and our cooperation between our Regional Application Laboratory China REAL and the UIUC.
