Professor Jin Yaochu, IEEE Fellow and Chair in Computational Intelligence, has visited the Logistics Research Center at Nankai University.
Professor Liu Binglian, Dean of the College of Economic and Social Development, received Prof. Jin and presided a brief welcoming ceremony. Many teachers and students from the Logistics Research Center have also participated in the academic exchange activity.
During the exchange, Associate Professor Xiao Jianhua gave an introduction of the work done during the last years in the above-mentioned research center.
Professor Jin Yaochu explained the research made by his team on evolutionary algorithms for solving multi-objective problems as well as other solutions for large-scale problems.
Both parties had shown interest in developing further cooperation. In order to continue the development of the internationalization process made by Nankai University during last years, both parties had raised the possibility of establishing a Big Data laboratory as well as other scholar exchanges.
Professor Yaochu Jin holds a Chair in Computational Intelligence and heads the Nature Inspired Computing and Engineering (NICE) Group, Department of Computing, University of Surrey, Guildford, Surrey, UK. He is also a "Finland Distinguished Professor" at the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland, "Changjiang Distinguished Professor" at Northeastern University, China, and Visiting Professor at Donghua University, China. He is particularly interested in nature-inspired machine intelligence and real-world driven problem-solving. His Research Interests include Evolutionary Optimization and Machine Learning.
