On June 13, 2018, Professor Vivienne Bath, an Australian expert in the field of cooperative education program evaluation, Chair of the Research Committee of the Centre for Chinese Studies and professor of the law school of the University of Sydney, visited Nankai University for a three-day site visit to evaluate the Master's degree program in International Economic and Trade Relations jointly held by Nankai University and Flinders University.
Through course observation, student interviews, program team meetings, alumni interviews and employer visits, Professor Vivienne Bath had developed a thorough understanding of the operation of the program in China. During the discussion session with the students, Prof. Bass received satisfactory feedback from the students that the design of the curriculum was scientific, the students' personal management and research skills were generally improved, and it was very helpful for their personal career development. During the discussion session with the project management team, in-depth communication was conducted on faculty selection, course evaluation, student management, and alumni services. In the period of three-day review, Prof. Bass also visited the leaders of the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee, where a high number of employers of the current students are located. The two sides had a full exchange of views on the impact of the program on the career development of the students as well as the social benefits and social evaluation of the program, and Professor Bass received positive comments regarding the value of the Program.
