​​Prof. Knox Lovell has been appointed as Adjunct Professor


On November 22, Professor C. Knox Lovell, an internationally renowned scholar, visited our college and had been appointed as Adjunct Professor. The ceremony was presided by Prof. Ruizhi Pang. Many graduate and doctoral students participated in the appointment ceremony.

During the ceremony, Prof. Pang briefly introduced Prof. Lovell and his academic achievements, and welcomed Prof. Lovell to be a part of the College of Economic and Social Development’s “Big Family.”

Prof. Lovell said he was very proud to be a new member and thanked the staff of the College for their hospitality, hoping to be back again.

After the appointment ceremony, Professor Lovell delivered a lecture entitled "A New Composite Index for Greenhouse Gases: Climate Science meets Social Science." His lecture was divided into five parts: Introduction & Background, Measurement Issues, The Analytical Framework, Empirical Analyzes, Conclusions & Extensions.

After his lecture, Professor Lovell exchanged ideas with the professors and students and answered some interesting questions regarding Climate Change. The lecture got excellent feedback from the students.

Professor C. Knox Lovell holds a Ph.D. from Duke University, a postdoc at the University of Chicago. He is also an Honorary Professor at the Centre for Efficiency and Productivity Analysis, (School of Economics, University of Queensland) and an SFA Internationally renowned scholar.

 Prof. Lovell, who has been the Director of the Center for Applied Economic Research at the University of New South Wales, has published more than ten monographs and published nearly 100 academic papers. He took part as an Expert Committee Member in important workshops and conferences as the European Workshop on Efficiency and Productivity Analysis (EWEPA), the North American Productivity Workshop (NAPW), Asia-Pacific Productivity Conference (APPC).
