On April 11, 2024, Professor Guo Kesha, Dean of the School of Economics and Finance at Huaqiao University and Director of the Economic Policy Research Center at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, visited the "Academic Lecture Hall of Nankai Institute of Economics and Development." He delivered an insightful lecture titled "Several Issues in Promoting New Industrialization." The event was hosted by Professor Bai Xuejie, with Professor Du Chuanzhong serving as the interactive guest. The lecture attracted the participation of dozens of teachers and students.
Professor Guo provided a comparative analysis of the current concept of new industrialization with the concept proposed in 2002. He emphasized the importance of high-quality development as the driving force behind promoting new industrialization in the current stage of development. Additionally, he highlighted the need for the coordinated development of new industrialization and urbanization, advocating for the transformation from off-site to on-site urbanization.
During the discussion session, participants engaged in a lively exchange with Professor Guo, focusing on the relationship between new industry, agricultural modernization, urbanization, the digital economy, and new industrialization.
