Seminar on Industrial Economics Innovation in the Digital and Intelligent Era

On July 7, 2024, Nankai University hosted the "Academic Seminar on Industrial Economics Innovation in the Digital and Intelligent Era" at the Balitai Campus. The seminar was attended by prominent industrial economics experts and scholars from various universities and research institutions, including Nanjing University, Beijing Normal University, Shandong University, and more. The event was chaired by Professor Liu Bingjian, Dean of the College of Economics.

During the expert discussion session, over ten experts shared their insights, including Liu Youjin, former Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee at Hunan University of Science and Technology; Gan Chunhui, Vice President of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences; Yang Huixin, former Dean of the School of Management at Shandong University; Qi Yudong, Dean of the School of Economics and Business Administration at Beijing Normal University; Zheng Jianghuai, Dean of the School of Economics at Nanjing University; Yu Zuo, Dean of the Institute of Digital Economy at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics; Niu Zhiwei, Professor at the School of Economics at Zhejiang Gongshang University; Yu Jianfan, Executive Vice President of the China Institute of Industrial Development at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics; Liu Yubin, Party Secretary of the School of Business at Tianjin University of Finance and Economics; Li Shijie, Professor at the School of Economics at Nankai University; Pang Ruizhi, Director of the Enterprise Research Center and Professor at the Institute of Economics and Social Development at Nankai University; and Du Chuanzhong, Director of the Institute of Industrial Economics at Nankai University. These experts engaged in extensive and in-depth discussions on the innovations in industrial economics in the era of digital intelligence.

In recent years, the Institute of Economics and Social Development at Nankai University has undertaken a series of research initiatives focused on major national strategies, including the development of the digital economy, the construction of modern industrial systems, and the coordinated advancement of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The institute has conducted extensive theoretical explorations on critical issues, such as how to build modern industrial systems under the current conditions of the digital economy and artificial intelligence. These efforts aim to establish Nankai University as a world-class hub for innovation in industrial, regional, and logistics theory, as well as a highly internationalized platform for policy exchange.
