To help new students quickly integrate into life at Nankai University and foster connections across various programs, the College recently organized the “2024 Fall Orientation and Team-Building Event for New Students.” Associate Dean Liu Weilin, class advisor Guo Jiahong, faculty from the Graduate Student Affairs Office, and all 2024 master’s and doctoral students participated in this event.
At the start of the event, Associate Dean Liu Weilin emphasized that a strong physique and a positive mindset are essential foundations for success in academic research. He encouraged everyone to enjoy the joy of physical activity, build friendships within the team, and suggested that students take time to step out of their dormitories regularly and embrace nature.
The event then officially began. Participants quickly broke down barriers, forming six vibrant teams. They eagerly engaged in brainstorming, encouraged one another, divided tasks strategically, and worked together to tackle complex challenges. Each team completed a series of challenging activities, including“Inspiring Momentum,” “Strategic Sequencing,” “Team Relay,” and“Crossing the Sea as a Dragon.”
Participants expressed that the event not only provided a much-needed break from their rigorous academic routines but, more importantly, fostered connections and enhanced communication among students from various disciplines.
