Our Institute's Professors Attend the Third Ningbo Forum on Regional Development and Common Prosperity

From November 8 to 10, 2024, the Third Ningbo Forum on Regional Development and Common Prosperity was successfully held in Ningbo. The event was hosted by the National Economic Geography Research Association and the Chinese Regional Science Association and organized by the Institute of Regional Development and Common Prosperity and the School of Economics and Management at Ningbo University of Technology. This high-level forum focused on the theoretical and practical issues surrounding China's regional development and the realization of common prosperity. Key topics included innovation in China's regional economic theories, the theory and practice of common prosperity, theoretical advancements in Chinese-style economics, rural and county-level economic challenges, urban economic issues, the coordinated economic development of the Yangtze River Delta and Hangzhou Bay regions, as well as other significant theoretical and practical matters.

Professor Liu Binglian, Dean of our institute, served as the moderator during the keynote session of the conference, while Professor Zhang Gui delivered a presentation in one of the parallel sessions. Nearly 100 scholars from institutions such as Peking University, Renmin University of China, Nankai University, Sun Yat-sen University, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences attended the event.

Nankai University's Regional Economics discipline is a national leader, supported by research platforms such as the China Regional Economics Application Laboratory. The discipline has made significant progress in areas including tracking and studying major national regional development strategies, designing and evaluating regional policies, and developing regional economic big data platforms. The institute places great emphasis on academic exchange, encouraging faculty to actively build academic networks and enhance the discipline's influence.
