Our Institute Holds Year-End Work Summary Meeting

On December 13, 2024, our institute convened the Faculty Work Summary Meeting and the Administrative Work Summary Meeting to review and reflect on the accomplishments and progress made throughout the year.

At the Faculty Work Summary Meeting, Vice Dean Liu Weilin provided a comprehensive review of the institute’s achievements over the past year, including advancements in teaching, research, and policy advisory services. Following this, heads of each discipline presented reports on their 2024 accomplishments in discipline development and outlined strategic measures for the coming year.

Dean Liu Binglian analyzed future trends in discipline development, identified key challenges facing the institute, and outlined major tasks for 2025. Emphasis was placed on improving student recruitment and training processes, as well as advancing contributions to national strategic priorities, ensuring continued progress in these critical areas.

In 2024, faculty members of our institute achieved remarkable academic milestones:

  • Publications:

    • 84 papers published as first       authors, averaging 4.2 papers per faculty member.

    • 62 papers in CSSCI-indexed       journals, including 1 in the top-tier journal Management World and       10 in second-tier authoritative journals such as Quantitative and       Technical Economics Research.

    • 19 papers in SCI, SSCI, and       EI-indexed journals, including 2 in the management B-level authoritative       journal International Journal of Production Economics and       3 in the economics C-level authoritative journal Review of Income       and Wealth.

    • Over 10 high-level articles       published in leading media outlets, including People’s Daily (1       article), Economic Daily (1 article), and Guangming       Daily (5 articles).

  • Books:

    • Published 3 academic monographs.

  • Projects:

    • Secured 30 funded projects,       including 1 key project from the National Social Science Fund, 3 National       Natural Science Foundation projects, and 1 project under the Ministry of       Education's Humanities and Social Sciences Planning.

  • Policy Contributions:

    • Submitted 45 policy advisory       reports to key government departments, with 25 receiving feedback or       directives from central and provincial leadership.

  • Academic Events:

    • Hosted 6 major academic       conferences, including the 10th Anniversary Forum on the       Coordinated Development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region.

    • Organized 4 grand lectures and       over 20 exchange seminars.

  • Recognitions:

    • Three faculty members received       the Outstanding Contribution Award for Think Tank       Development at Nankai University (2023-2024).

    • Two faculty members received       the Excellence Contribution Award.

These achievements demonstrate the institute’s dedication to advancing academic research, contributing to national strategies, and fostering a vibrant intellectual community.

During the Administrative Work Summary Meeting, all administrative staff presented their individual work reports. Comprehensive summaries were delivered by Geng Songqing, Director of the Office of the Institute, and Zheng Ying, Director of the International Exchange Office, covering administrative services, student affairs, and joint program collaborations.

Vice Dean Liu Weilin commended the administrative team for their high-quality execution of tasks over the past year. He encouraged them to maintain their excellent work ethic in the new year, enhance communication and collaboration, and work together to drive the institute’s development.

Vice Dean Bai Xuejie emphasized the team's ability to identify and implement innovative and breakthrough solutions in their daily responsibilities. She urged the team to approach the challenges of the coming year with enthusiasm and determination.

Dean Liu Binglian highlighted the contributions of the administrative team in upholding their responsibilities, adhering to standards, and supporting the growth of academic disciplines. He outlined new expectations for the next phase, aiming for even greater achievements in the institute’s administrative operations.
