Faculty Members from Our Institute Attend the First Session of the Sixth General Assembly of the China Ports Association

Recently, the China Ports Association convened the First Session of its Sixth General Assembly in Beijing. The meeting reviewed the achievements of the Fifth Council in effectively serving as a bridge between the government and enterprises and supporting economic and social development. Recommendations for the next phase of work were also proposed. During the session, key regulations such as the Work Report of the Fifth Council of the China Ports Association and the Revised Draft of the Constitution of the China Ports Association were deliberated and approved. In addition, new members of the Council and the Board of Supervisors were elected.

Our institute served as a Vice President Unit of the Fifth Council and continues to serve as a Council Member Unit of the Sixth Council. Associate Professor Liu Jun from the Logistics Center attended the conference as a member representative. More than 300 representatives from member organizations, subject-matter experts, and related institutions in the port sector across the country participated in the meeting.

Our institute has long provided strategic decision-making support for the development of national port transportation and logistics. The China Ports Association is a strategic partner of our institute and has commissioned us to undertake several important consulting projects, including Forecasting Throughput and Policy Research for China-Russia Border Ports and Comparative Research on Port Management Systems between China and Foreign Countries. Our institute also represented Nankai University in jointly initiating the establishment of the Tianjin Modern Port Collaborative Innovation Center, along with the National Port Administration Office, the Tianjin Municipal Government, and the National Development and Reform Commission. This center aims to build a national level think tank on ports and provide intellectual support for developing world-class international ports.
