To deepen faculty and staff’s understanding of the university’s latest policies and to better support the institution’s development, our institute invited Professor Li Lanbing, Director of the Strategic Development Department of Nankai University, on April 3 to deliver a special lecture titled "Leveraging Strategic Planning to Promote High-Quality, Connotative Development of the University." The seminar was chaired by Professor Liu Weilin, Vice Dean of the institute, and attended by all faculty and staff members.
Professor Li began by briefly introducing key aspects of the National Plan for Building a Strong Education System (2024–2035), focusing on themes such as “enhancing the overall strength of higher education and establishing strategic leadership” and “deepening comprehensive education reform to stimulate development vitality.” She then focused on the sections most relevant to our institute’s teaching and research work within the documents Nankai University’s 14th Five-Year Development Plan and the Action Plan for High-Quality Development and Reform at Nankai University (2023–2025).
Professor Li emphasized that interdisciplinary development is an irreversible trend. Considering the new direction of the latest round of academic evaluations, she encouraged our institute to continue its efforts in cultivating top-tier talent, building high-level teams, supporting national strategic initiatives through think tank development, and promoting intensive, high-quality discipline advancement, to contribute to the overall strength of the university.
This lecture was part of the institute’s ongoing faculty training series this semester. Through Professor Li’s insightful and accessible explanations, all attendees gained a deeper understanding of the new trends and requirements in China’s education reform and development, as well as the university’s strategic goals. The session also encouraged faculty to further enhance their professional capabilities and contribute meaningfully to the high-quality development of the university.
