Recently, a delegation led by President Hong Junjie of Shandong University of Finance and Economics visited our college for special research. Professor Liu Binglian, Dean of our college, Professor Liu Weilin, Vice Dean, Professor Zhou Mi, Director of the China Urban and Regional Economic Research Center, Professor Zhang Gui, Secretary-General of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Coordinated Development Research college, and Professor Liu Yuhai, Director of the China Regional Economic Application Laboratory, participated in the exchange forum.

Liu Binglian extended a warm welcome to President Hong and his delegation. Liu Weilin gave a detailed introduction to the basic situation of the College of Economic and Social Development. Then the two parties conducted key exchanges on the faculty team, discipline development, talent training, think tank construction, and international cooperation.

The delegation also visited the China Regional Economic Application Laboratory of Nankai University. Professor Liu Yuhai, Director of the laboratory, gave a detailed introduction to the laboratory's focus on the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, the construction of databases such as the urban spatial big data platform and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development platform, and the important achievements made in serving the policy evaluation and think tank construction of the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei by combining high-quality micro-statistical data.

President Hong highly praised the outstanding achievements made by the College of Economic and Social Development and thanked the warm reception of Nankai CESD. He hoped that the two parties could further promote in-depth cooperation in academic research, think tank services, and laboratory construction in the future.

Subsequently, the two parties conducted further discussions on the construction of an independent knowledge system of economics, the management model and operation mechanism of the laboratory, etc. Taking this research as an opportunity, the two parties will deepen the cooperation and exchange between the two universities by combining their respective characteristic disciplinary advantages.
