On December 12, 2025, our institute invited Professor Kannan Govindan from the University of Adelaide, Australia to visit the "Nankai CESD Academic Lecture Hall" and gave an academic lecture entitled "How to write a paper for publishing in top journals". The lecture was presided over by Professor Li Xiang from the Modern Logistics Research Center of our institute.

Focusing on the core needs of publishing in top journals, Professor Govindan's lecture conducted in-depth explanations around the writing logic of top journal papers and the entire review process of international top journals. Based on his years of academic research and journal editing practice, the professor systematically explained the practical methodology and experience of publishing research results in SCI/SSCI top journals for core links such as the topic selection and conception of high-quality academic papers, the extraction of innovation points, the design of framework structure, writing skills, and the review process. Combining his own scientific research experience, Professor Govindan emphasized that in research, we should not only pay attention to technical details but also focus on interdisciplinary integration. He encouraged young scholars to start with intensive reading of excellent papers, gradually cultivate independent scientific research and innovation capabilities, and conveyed the scientific research concept of "protecting efficient time and writing a fixed amount every day" through vivid personal stories, bringing inspiration with both academic depth and spiritual encouragement to the teachers and students present.
In the exchange session, many participating teachers and students actively asked questions about hot issues such as the length constraints of submitting papers to top journals and corresponding strategies, supply chain optimization under the influence of political factors, the application of AI in paper writing, and how to solve the dilemma that academic output lags behind industry practice. Based on his profound research accumulation and industry insights, Professor Govindan gave in-depth, clear, and detailed responses to each question.
This lecture not only helped teachers and students deepen their understanding of academic norms and the paradigm of publishing in top journals but also effectively clarified the common puzzles and solutions in the entire process of paper writing and submission.
