Recently, the *China Modern Logistics Development Report 2025*, co-edited by the Department of Economic and Trade of the National Development and Reform Commission and the Modern Logistics Research Center of Nankai University, was officially published by China Social Sciences Press. Professor Liu Binglian, Dean of the College of Economic and Social Development of Nankai University, serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the series, and Professor Xiao Jianhua, Director of the Modern Logistics Research Center of Nankai University, and Dr. Qin Fan serve as the Executive Editors-in-Chief.

The report includes four parts: Comprehensive Chapter, Industry Chapter, Thematic Chapter, and Appendix, totaling 12 chapters. Among them, the Comprehensive Chapter comprehensively summarizes the overall situation and characteristics of China's logistics development in 2024. The Industry Chapter deeply explains the latest development trends and core characteristics of logistics in four major industries: transportation, manufacturing, commerce, and agricultural products. The Thematic Chapter accurately focuses on the frontier of the logistics industry, and conducts in-depth research on four major themes: the policy evolution and implementation effects of effectively reducing the overall social logistics costs, the construction and innovative development of national logistics hubs, the main characteristics and development paths of new quality productive forces in China's logistics industry, and the practice and prospect of modern logistics promoting the integrated development of industrial chains and supply chains. The Appendix sorts out the important contents of logistics-related policies and plans issued by various government departments and the relevant statistical data of the logistics industry.

The *China Modern Logistics Development Report* is the only annual report on the development of China's logistics industry that directly enters the national-level logistics decision-making and is released on behalf of the central government, and has become a landmark document for the development of China's logistics industry. Since its first release in 2003, 23 volumes have been published continuously, with a total of more than 6 million words and a circulation of more than 50,000 copies, and it has been cited 16,000 times. The English version of the report is released globally by Springer, a world-renowned scientific and technological publishing company, and 15 volumes have been published continuously so far, with a download volume of more than 120,000 times. It has been invited to give special reports at the annual conference of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, the academic annual conference of the Chartered College of Logistics and Transport in the UK, etc., and has been collected by top international institutions such as Harvard University, Stanford University, Yale University, Oxford University, Cambridge University, and the National Library of Australia, becoming an important window and platform for the world to understand China's logistics market and policies.
