To help the "new CESD members" quickly integrate into Nankai life and start a new chapter in the future, the College of Economic and Social Development recently held the "2025 Freshmen Quality Development Activity of the Nankai University College of Economic and Social Development". Associate Professor Liu Weilin, Vice Dean of CESD, teachers from the Graduate Work Department, and all master's and doctoral freshmen of the 2025 cohort participated in this activity.

In the mobilization speech of the activity, Professor Liu Weilin mentioned that as postgraduates in the new era, they not only need the concentration to "sit on the cold bench", but also the vitality and collaboration to "go out and take action". He hoped that this quality development activity would achieve three goals: first, cultivate the spirit of "teamwork", hoping that everyone would learn to listen, trust, and contribute their own strength in the collective; second, temper the character of "perseverance", and when facing unknown challenges and temporary failures, clench their teeth, encourage each other, break through themselves, and surely see the most beautiful scenery on the top of the mountain; third, stimulate the courage to "explore the unknown", enjoy every new game and task today, and let curiosity and courage become the driving force for exploring the boundaries of human knowledge.

The activity started with an ice-breaking session. Everyone was randomly divided into multiple teams. After a quick brainstorming, each team determined its logo and slogan and displayed them in turn. The vivid, imaginative, and creative words fully demonstrated the vigorous vitality and full creative tension of the young Nankai people, and the on-site atmosphere was gradually elevated. Then it entered the competitive session. During the competition, each team cooperated fully, and the "new CESD members" showed their energetic state. Cheers, applause, and shouts echoed throughout the activity venue.

The college of Economic and Social Development has always attached importance to the physical and mental health of on-campus postgraduates, and has held freshmen quality development activities for many consecutive years, which has become an important opening lesson for "new CESD members" to quickly integrate into Nankai and show the positive and vibrant spirit of the college. As life continues, the Nankai spirit is passed down from generation to generation. In the future, the college will continue the Nankai tradition of educating people, inspire all CESD members to sharpen the light of innovation and struggle, keep pace with the development of the motherland, and write a wonderful chapter belonging to this generation of Nankai people with their youth.
