On September 27, the 7th Camphor Economics Seminar (Tianjin) was successfully held in our College.

The seminar was co-hosted by the "Camphor Economic Academic Circle", College of Economic and Social Development of Nankai University, Tianjin Urban Economics Association, and the National University Think Tank Alliance for Major Regional Strategies. More than 80 representatives from over 20 universities, including Renmin University of China, Sun Yat-sen University, Lanzhou University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Southeast University, University College Dublin, and Shanxi University of Finance and Economics, attended the seminar to jointly discuss the cutting-edge trends in China's urban and regional economic development. Li Lanbing, Director of the Strategic Development Department of Nankai University, attended the opening ceremony, and Professor Zhou Mi, Director of the China Urban and Regional Economic Research Center of Nankai University, presided over the seminar.
The forum set up five parallel sub-forums: "Modern Urban System", "High-Quality Urban Development", "Innovative Cities and Industrial Upgrading", "Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence", and "Urban Resilience and Sustainable Development". The forum presented three prominent features: first, in-depth participation of authoritative journals—editors of core journals such as *Nankai Economic Studies*, *Urban Problems*, and *Hebei Academic Journal* provided on-site guidance to young scholars, building a direct "research-publication" mechanism; second, integration of interdisciplinary perspectives—more than 30 selected papers deeply integrated new backgrounds of the digital intelligence era, new methods such as machine learning, new topics such as public data sharing, and new urban and regional spaces, with many achievements attracting the attention of journals; third, precise guidance from top scholars—a team of young and middle-aged backbone teachers conducted wonderful comments and in-depth discussions, better promoting paper publication and academic deepening.
The urban and regional economics discipline of Nankai University is in the first echelon in China, and has formed a comprehensive high-level development platform for urban and regional economics covering theoretical research, student training, internationalization, laboratory construction, and think tank research. The "Camphor Economics Forum (CEC)" is a benchmark academic exchange platform in the field of economics, contributing to the improvement of China's economic research level. This session of the Camphor Economics Seminar (Tianjin) is another cooperation between the College of Economic and Social Development of Nankai University and the Camphor Economic Academic Circle, fully demonstrating the academic quality and professional standards of the forum. It is of great significance for enhancing the academic leadership and influence of Nankai University's urban and regional economics discipline and strengthening the academic brand effect.
