CESD’s Applied Economics Postdoctoral Research Station Achieves Outstanding Results in the National Postdoctoral Research Station Evaluation

Recently, the Tianjin Human Resources and Social Security Bureau announced the results of the 2020–2025 National Comprehensive Evaluation of Postdoctoral Research Stations. Nankai University achieved outstanding results, with all 31 participating postdoctoral research stations receiving strong evaluations.

Among the ten postdoctoral research stations in Tianjin that were awarded the national “Excellent” rating, six belonged to Nankai University, including the Applied Economics Postdoctoral Research Station of the College of Economic and Social Development (CESD).

Organized every five years by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the National Postdoctoral Management Committee, the National Comprehensive Evaluation of Postdoctoral Research Stations serves as an important benchmark for assessing postdoctoral training quality, research and innovation capabilities, and institutional development. The results of this evaluation highlight the effectiveness of Nankai University’s recent reforms in postdoctoral education and reflect the steady growth and continuous improvement of its postdoctoral community.

Since its establishment, the College of Economic and Social Development has attached great importance to the development of its postdoctoral research programs. Over the past decade and more, the CESD has cultivated a large number of highly qualified and innovative young scholars through its postdoctoral training platform.

In 2006, to better serve economic and social development, the CESD integrated its research resources and established the Applied Economics Postdoctoral Research Station. In 2009, the CESD signed an agreement with the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development to jointly train postdoctoral researchers. Based on the CESD’s existing postdoctoral station, a postdoctoral workstation of the Academy’s Tianjin Branch was established to facilitate collaborative training.

In 2011, the CESD formally entered into an agreement with the College of Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) to jointly develop a postdoctoral research station. As one of China’s leading centers for economic research, the College of Economics at CASS has provided a strong foundation for collaboration. This partnership represented an important initiative in advancing Nankai University’s economics discipline and has generated numerous achievements through collaborative innovation.

The CESD Postdoctoral Research Station is currently recruiting. We warmly welcome outstanding Ph.D. graduates from China and around the world whose research interests align with our academic fields to join us in conducting research and teaching activities.
